Spotlight is a web-based software application created to allow users to explore, interrogate and analyze data. The application is easy to use, allowing straightforward table and chart production without the need for software installations on the users’ computer.
 

Spotlight produces cross-tabulations, charts and trend analysis on selected variables, either individually, or in comparison to the same variable in other projects (wave / tracker studies).
 

Unlike a desktop application where the software must be installed locally and the data must reside on a local or networked computer, Spotlight users require neither. The data is housed centrally on SwissPeaks servers and access to Spotlight (and all functionality within) is purely browser based. No files (apart from those created by the user when producing their own analysis) will ever reside on the local computer.
 

In addition, there are no pre-defined analysis reports set up in Spotlight. The application will interrogate the central database and return aggregated data (via the user requested analysis method) to the users’ browser in a timely fashion. I.e. Spotlight can quickly aggregate thousands of cases of data and return populated analysis very quickly. This was a critical design issue as SwissPeaks wanted to convince users to be drawn away from desktop applications.

Comparison of variables across multiple data sets, regardless of the datasets being apart of the same study or not.

 

A stylish Filter Management capability that allows the user to view data beyond simple one-dimensional static values. Pre-defined or user-defined filters can be applied to produce dynamic analyses of data.

 

 

Chart production that also allows users to easily export for offline use.

 

Export capabilities to read data tables into MS Excel, for further analysis and manipulation.

 

Keyword Search to quickly find specific variables or questions on specific topics.

 

The user only needs access to a PC with an internet connection.
